Holiday Gift Guide 2020 - For the Ladies

Here's a little gifting inspiration for the women in your life!

This year I'm doing smaller gifts (getting married and having your partner start grad school will pull your purse strings), but many of the options below are available in range of price points :)

"The No Brainer" set from The Ordinary - Skincare can be confusing, especially the multitude of options available from The Ordinary. I went to an event hosted by The Ordinary recently, where I learned that simple is best. I pared back my routine to one cleanser, two serums, and a moisturizer. This kit is an amazing starting point! The serums included pack a heavy punch, and the moisturizer locks it all in. What I really love about this moisturizer is that it's fragrance free, sinks in, and is gentle but effective. The associate at the event explained that The Ordinary puts their ingredients in their serums, not their moisturizer - totally unlike other companies that mix their ingredients into their creams. I can go on and on, but I'm no expert! Shop this kit now for 23% off during their Black Friday/Anti Black Friday deal!

Always Together pendant from BonbiForest - I love giving and getting jewellery as a gift. Whenever I wear jewellery that I've received, I always think of the person who gave it to me :) Although personal, I think jewellery is an easy gift to give a friend if you know their style well. I love EVERYTHING in this Etsy shop - go check it out and support a small business!

Sheertex tights - These are a great gift for any of your gal pals because they are SO PRACTICAL. Does that sound boring? You're actually saving your friend lots of $$$, because these tights are indestructible. I can't count the number of times I've had to make an emergency run to Shoppers, because I snagged my tights at work (and hadn't waxed my legs in...a long time).

Pearl headband - For the trendsetter in your life! Headbands are in, pearls are in, marry the two trends with this fabulous accessory. For the slightly less adventurous, you can always opt for cute bobby pins and clips instead!

Bibliophile Ceramic Vase - It wasn't until I received a couple of vases as gifts that I realized how lovely they are to have. They can completely change the look of a bouquet, and brighten up your whole room. I loved this novelty trompe l'oeil vase when I saw it in a shop recently - it looks great with or without flowers in it!

A candle, any candle - controversial opinion, but candles are the best gift! On my recent trip to visit Azim in Michigan, we visited a boutique that had a huge variety of locally made candles, and they were all AMAZING. I bought one for us that smelled exactly like our trip to Beaune. I can't explain it, but it took us both right back to the cobblestoned streets (the candle's scent is "honeyed orange"). I also LOVE this Rosewood Cassis candle from Madewell. It's an exact dupe of my favourite bougie bougie (that is a play on words, and I totally understand if you stop reading because of how lame I am) - Diptyque's Baies.

Cirrus Steamer - This beautiful, functional steamer is another practical but awesome gift. I hate ironing, so steaming is the way to go for me!

My last gift idea is to give the gift of an experience! I always appreciate these gifts because they guarantee memories will be made :) Here are a few ideas:

  • Gift card to her favourite restaurant
  • A local class (calligraphy? cooking? cross-stitch?)
  • A city tour
  • A membership to a museum she loves
  • Tickets to the symphony with TSOUNDCHECK
  • Movie passes for date night

I hope this gave you some inspiration for some gifts for your girlfriends! Stay tuned for my gift guide for gents, stocking stuffers, and what I'm asking Santa for ;)

Thank you for reading! Xox
