Weekly Bests 2019.16

OMG it's May next week! I feel like I blinked and April was gone.

This month has felt particularly busy for me, because I had a lot of soul-searching questions start to float around my mind in March...and then I didn't really get to spend any real time thinking about them. The hours in my day were dedicated to the daily grind, which has been heavier than usual. I don't like to get stuck in the busy trap, but sometimes it's hard to avoid. Onwards and upwards, I suppose.

An Unexpected Conversation

I went to visit my aunt and drop off Easter treats, and ended up staying at her place for over an hour just chatting with her. It was totally unplanned, and such a nice way to spend the afternoon. This is one of life's simplest and best pleasures.

The OA

One way I like to decompress and escape the day is to watch a good sci-fi movie or TV show. I don't know what took me so long to come around to The OA, but I'm so glad I gave it a shot! I recently read that it was co-written by its main star, Brit Marling, and I was interested in watching something female-led. It is so strange, and so addicting!

Lady Marmalade

Azim and I have made an effort to keep going on fun dates throughout the wedding planning process. Here's the thing about wedding planning - it's totally fun, until other people feel like they need to be involved :D We've been staying as sane as possible, and going for an amazing brunch always helps.

I've been wanting to try Lady Marmalade forever - it's always on the "Best Brunch" lists in Toronto, but the lineups are so long and we usually can't be bothered. This weekend we left a little earlier, still waited for 25 minutes, but found it was worth it!!

GoT Water Cooler Talk

Do you know what I love almost as much as watching the new episodes of Game of Thrones? Going into work and dissecting every gory detail and theorizing with my coworkers about what's going to happen next.

Our last conversation circled around me staunchly stating my belief that there is no way Tyrion will be killed off because people would riot. My coworker believes no one is safe. Time will tell.

After water cooler talk I like to recap with JVN on Gay of Thrones because levity is always needed, especially after watching last Sunday's episode when Arya....well, I won't spoil it :)

I hope you have a great week ahead! Thank you for reading xox
